Teignbridge Council Anti Litter Campaign
Devon Parkour was recently commissioned to help out with an on going anti-litter campaign being run by Teignbridge council.

So far the ad's have been displayed on bill boards around the Teignbridge area featuring Malcolm, a member of Teignbridge's cleaning Blitz Team. The next phase of the marketing campaign involved producing a video for the council website and YouTube which is hoped to go viral.
Despite his many talents, Malcolm requested a stunt double for his role in the video so Dom from Devon Parkour stepped up to the challenge. On the day of filming we were lucky with the weather and everything was done within the hour. Editing and post processing is going to be completed within the next week so we will upload the video here as soon as it becomes available.
Chagford Arts Festival 2009
Devon Parkour was invited to perform at the opening night of the 2009 Chagford Arts Festival. The show was a great success and we recieved a lot of positive feedback.
The festival itself goes on until Sunday 12th July with many more activities planned including dance and martial arts workshops.

Who is Charlie Keeper?
"Who is Charlie Keeper?' is the shockingly fast paced fantasy novel by Marcus Alexander. It tells the tale of Charlie, an iron-willed, twelve year old girl suffering an unjust and unhappy fate. Forced to flee her home in the gloomy, rain-drenched landscape of London by a bloodthirsty and terrifying new foe, she escapes to the vibrant, parallel land of Bellania with nothing more than her common sense and razor-sharp wits to keep her safe. Bellania, a land of myth, magic and marauding giants with bad attitude and poor anger management. With the fate of a world resting squarely upon her shoulders Charlie must learn about her destiny in order to defeat Bane, the Stoman Lord."
The book features a fictional sport called K'Changa which has been likened to a mix of freerunning and martial arts. A few trickers on youtube have attempted to replicate the techniques described in the book with varying degrees of success!
Kalenji Parkour Trainers: Limited Stock Remaining - Reserve Yours Now!!!
For over a year, London based outdoor/sportswear shop, Decathalon has been selling a trainer called the Kalenji Success which quickly became popular within the parkour and freerun community. Many will argue Kalenji have achieved the holy grail of the perfect parkour shoe by making something that is durable, lightweight, cheap and outstanding grip on nearly all urban surfaces in wet and dry conditions.

However this is all due to change with the introduction of the 2009 edition of the Kalenji Success which is supposed to be 'improved' but is actually a downgrade in terms of the characterestics that made it a good trainer for parkour and freerunning. To address this issue, James from 3run contacted Decathalon and perswaded them to produce one last batch of the old design which they have agreed to do but the quantity they produce will depend on the interest expressed by the likes of you and I.
James has produced a short questionaire which can be found here http://www.3run.co.uk/forum/james/kalenji/ asking how many you would be prepared to buy and how much you'd pay. (Please bear in mind this is just for research and is not a commitment to buy.)
So if you want a chance to buy youself a pair of arguably the best freerunning & parkour trainers ever produced for under 20 quid then follow the link above and express your interest! As a rough idea, one pair will probably last you about 3 months before they start to deteriorate (Less of course if you train every day, longer if you dont train so often). Budgeting for a year ahead that would be 4 pairs at £10-12 each + postage so you're probably looking at a total of £60. Compare that to a single pair of nike air trainers which arent nearly so good and wont last much longer yet cost £60-£80 + postage and you can see why they Kalenji Success has proved so popular.
