New Parkour/Martial Arts Game Concept - 'The One'
Background:
In the past we have incorporated a number of different games into our parkour training, often with an element of escape or defence in mind; e.g. pk tag, manhunt (family tag) etc. This is a suggestion for a new game format which is based loosely around a game of tag combined with elements of kickboxing and MMA.
Overview:
Infulenced by 'The Matrix' films, The game is called 'The One' and particpants are comprised of agents and runners. The game starts with one agent and everyone else are runners. When an agent tags a runner they become an agent as well and this continues until no more runners remain. The last runner to be tagged is 'The One' and wins the game. Who ever wins the previous game starts as an agent in the next game.
Tagging:
To 'tag' a runner, an agent must fight them using a combination of strikes, locks and take downs. For a tag to count, an agent must either knock a runner off their feet, cause them to tap out/surrender or keep hold of them for more than 10 seconds.
If the runner escapes before 10 seconds has elapsed (and has not already been brought to the ground or surrendered) then the tag doesnt count.
Should the runner manage to not just escape but over-power the agent by means of take down or tap out/surrender then the agent must run two laps of the playing area before they can tag anyone else.
Multiple Opponents:
There are no limits on the numbers of people involved in a fight. Thus for example three agents could all attack a single runner, or as another example, runners who spot a fellow runner being attacked by agents can come to their aid and help them fight off the agents.
Other Rules:
All fighting must be semi contact. The idea is to use enough force to bring down your opponent or escape, not to break every bone in their body!
No strikes to the head, face, groin, or spine
No rugby tackles drop kicks, or throws. Takedowns are allowed and encouraged but don't take the piss!
______________________________________________________________
As mentioned at the start, this game is just a concept at the moment and has not been fully tried or tested. I'm sure it may be necessary to adapt the rules when played for real.
Anyone who likes the idea by all means give it a try and please share any feedback with regard to what works and what doesnt. Videos would be cool too!
Any suggestions/comments/improvements are welcome.

Re: New Parkour/Martial Arts Game Concept - 'The One'
Hey look, I'm back online!
Now this game seems a good idea to me in theory, but due to just how people are, it's very possible this could end badly...
However, it IS a good idea, so I think as long as it's controlled, there's no reason to not go ahead with it with a little planning... it could be amazing.
So long as everyone can fall over and not die/break themselves and there is a universal "safe" word as well as tapping out. There are enough pins that pin everything that this would be required if you're not expecting to be pinned quite so thouroughly.
