 Re: taking up parkour
I dont know if anyone trains in Teignmouth but people regularly train in places like Plymouth and Exeter. Also people train in Torquay and Paignton (amongst other places aswell) although there not as good as the big cities. your best bet would probably be to look on the gatherings section of the forum and look for a jam thats easiest for you to get to Good Luck

 Re: taking up parkour
Hi I'm Jemma. I'm moving to Exeter next year for Uni, and was wondering if there's anything in Exeter I could join. I've never done this before, but I do trampoline a little. I'd be more up for doing gym-based stuff at least to start off with because I am quite prone to falling on my head...
So is the a specific gym session that people in Exeter go to, and what's it like?
Thanks xx

 Re: taking up parkour
Hi Jemma, welcome to the forums. We train in exeter most weekends and if you want to get into freerunning we could teach you the basics and show you some stuff that you can learn without getting hurt There is a gym in exeter but its lessons not open sessions and because you have to pay for a full term and a time (and still get charged if you miss a week etc) I dont know any freerunners who go there. The gym that most of us go to is newton abbot which is a 20 min train ride from exeter and its quite a new facility with sunken trampolines and sprung floors and all sorts and its just a fiver per session.

 Re: taking up parkour
I'm 16 and living in Exeter, just on summer holidays right now, I was wondering if there is any actual kind of regular organised club for the purposes of learning parkour rather than just sort of going out and doing it every now and again?

 Re: taking up parkour
Not really, but there are people training in exeter at least once a week and often more frequently than that.

 Re: taking up parkour
Usual meeting place tends to be either central library or quay carpark sometime after 11am... we're far too lazy to contemplate getting into town any earlier than that. Where and when I train tends to be quite a spontanious decision based upon what free time I have and who else is able to train on the day so your best bet is to add me on msn - dom@silentmotion.co.uk
