Exeter

Name :: Central Library
Overview :: Exeter Central Library has long been the traditional meeting point when practicing parkour as well as providing a wide range of things to do. As with most places in exeter this is better on a sunday as there are less people around.
Opportunities :: At the bottom of the steps, adjacent to the road there is a tall sloped red brick wall which is great for wall runs, wall flips and wall spins. Perpundicular to that is a steep sloped stone wall of varying height which offers similar oppertunities. On the upper level there are many rails great for practicing balance, vaults and underbars. Additionally there are several walls which are good for traversing and provide a fair challenge.
Hazards :: The bark chipping/flowerbed area behind the white rails is often used by the homeless so watch out for needles and excrement etc. We have been told that the librarians don't mind us training here so long as people are quiet and courteous and don't obstruct the entrance/exit.
Near to :: Exeter Central Library is less than 5 mins walk from Central Railway Station, 1 minute from the Phoenix Centre and 15mins walk from Exeter St David's Station. Tesco is also just a short distance away as well as a public convenience.

Name :: Phoenix Centre
Overview :: The Phonix Centre is located close to the central library and while there is not a huge amount of things here, its definitely worth a visit whilst en route to other places.
Opportunities :: At the front there is a 90 degree vertical brick wall with good grip which is ideal for wall spins, wall flips and various wall hops/climbs or even 360 cat leaps. There are also a few railings suitable for vaulting and underbars. Round the corner in the carpark area there is a large set of railings which are great for combining moves into short runs.
Hazards :: This is a relatively safe place and you will rarely be asked to leave on a weekend unless you are in a particularly large group.
Near to :: Next to the Central Library, 3 mins from Central Station. Public toilets are situated just 50 yards away as well as the high street which has no shortage of places to buy food. Nearest supermarket is probably Tesco.

Name :: Southernhay
Overview :: Southernhay is a medium sized business park a fair walk from the centre of town with landscaped 'gardens' consisting of a great many red brick walls and stainless steel railings.
Opportunities :: There is so much that can be done here but with all the walls of varying height it is a great place to practice precision jumps and climb ups. At one end there are some railings which are good for balancing on and in the middle there are some small cat leaps where the steps lead up from the car park below. All along one side there is a low wall with a big gap and a higher wall behind it. This is a decent cat leap but it is by no means an easy one!
Hazards :: Probably best to avoid this place during office hours as it is likley to be rather busy and the occupants may object to the distractions going on outside their window. At the weekend however this is a great place to go.
Near to :: Cathedral Green, Highstreet

Name :: Traversing Wall
Overview :: The Traversing Wall is a long stone wall which runs along side a narrow public footpath and grassy area.
Opportunities :: As the name suggests, there is only one thing worth doing here and that's traversing the wall; i.e traveling horizontally along it from one side to the other. It is a fun challenge to start at one end and climb along as far as you can without falling off. As well as being fun it also works wonders for improving the strength of your arms and grip. It's best to stay low so it wont matter when you fall, as you will fall eventually... Nobody has yet made it all the way from one end to the other in one go!
Hazards :: Possibly a bit of a dodgy place at night but fine during the day. On the other side of the wall are private gardens and unsurprisingly the residents don't take kindly to people poking their head over/walking along the top. Keep to the lower half of the front face of the wall on the public side if you want to avoid angry residents!
Near to :: Quay Car Park, Blue Rails
