That does seem a long time, spose the only person who could really
comment is someone who has used one?

Problem is small cutters break easy. My machine will run at 5000mm/min flat out but with a 4mm cutter i'm lucky if i can go faster than 50mm/min

50mm min^-1 sounds about what I would run a 4mm cutter taking a probably 1/2mm off
I would rough it with a 8 or 10 them finish with a small mill, but I am comparativly new
to milling and only ever used my old Ajax
Using plenty of coolant?
Blowing the chips away with coolant really helps.

Having to go easy on the coolant atm, just applying oil by hand until i finish machining the encoder covers.

makes a big difference really squirting the coolant so it's blows the chip away, I don't use the pump on the
mill, not sure why, I have been using a lucozade bottle with a spout top, seems to work.

I cleaned out the sump a while back, removed the flood pump, stripped it down, cleaned up, replaced o-rings etc. Once the new encoder covers are done and water cant get anywhere it shouldnt then i'll fill it up and start using it.
